Pre Conception
In an ideal world we would be able to plan and prepare for each pregnancy; have bloodwork done to assess health, discuss supplement options to increase chances of conceiving, and learn about different models of pregnancy care. We offer pre conception appointments that give you an opportunity to do just that. Call to schedule your 1 hour preconception intake appointment.
Prenatal Care
Our prenatal care is comprehensive and holistic. We see clients once a month until 28 weeks, every 2 weeks 28-36 weeks, once a week from 36 weeks until birth. We offer all standard testing available; we can draw or order labs as well as order ultrasounds. We schedule one hour appointment times so that we can get to know each other and you can ask all of your questions. Our appointments take place in our sun filled prenatal room, located inside an old home in Madison, VA.
Birth House
Our birth house, or birth center, is a 2 birth room facility with large beds, inflatable pools, a fully functioning kitchen, 2 full bathrooms, and incredible mountain views. It is right on 29 (across from Yoder's), but sits up on a hill and away from the road for additional privacy. The birth house is located on over an acre of land which gives the feeling of seclusion, while being convenient to major roads.
Home Birth
In addition to our birth house, we will also attend your birth in your home. We bring the birth center to you. Same attendants, same equipment, the comfort and privacy of your own home.
Postpartum Care
Our postpartum care is extensive and one of the hallmarks of midwifery care. We are licensed to care for you and your new baby through 6 weeks postpartum. We provide multiple in home postpartum visits for you and your baby followed by several in office visits.
