Our Philosophy

At The Nest, we employ a shared decision making model and offer individualized care for each of our clients. Our team believes that you, the pregnant woman, are the ultimate authority on you and your pregnancy. As your pregnancy progresses we continuously assess your health and work together to ensure that you give birth in the safest place for you and your baby.

Our highly skilled midwives are here to walk beside you through your pregnancy and the transformative experience of birth. We do not believe in out of hospital birth at any cost. We also do not believe in out of hospital obstetrics. This entire model of care, the Midwifery Model of Care, is very different from that of mainstream obstetrics. If you are looking for a hospital birth, but at home or in a birth center, we will not be a good fit. 

As appointments approach, we prepare each family with information and resources about future tests and testing options. Education is a large part of what we do and we believe that with support and access to information, you will make the best decisions for your growing family.
